BEIJING-- The high-performance, affordable synthetic intelligence design launched just recently by Chinese startup DeepSeek has a wave of attention around the globe. DeepSeek-R1 appears to provide efficiency that rivals alternatives from the U.S., but the company states it was developed at less than a tenth of the cost of those models. Chinese innovation news portal 36Kr talked to the company's creator, Liang Wenfeng, kenpoguy.com in July 2024.
